And the interesting thing is that the error is always related to different things. The computer works perfectly fineįor something like 24 hours (which also includes 7-8 hours of sleep time), but then after that all of a sudden some error occurs. It has Intel core i3 processor, 6 GB RAM, and ATI Mobility Readon 5470 GPU. My computer has 3 GB of memory, by the way, and that isn't significantly expandable.I have a Dell Studio 1558 laptop. But I've never had the browser regularly crash when the computer wakes up before (and it happens now when Firefox is using much less memory - say 1 GB). I've had recent Firefoxes crash while I'm using them because when their memory usage approaches 2 GB. This may very well be a memory issue, since I almost always have many tabs (say 30-40) open. With the betas, it was happening every single time I resumed. Since the final version of 7.0 was released, this does not happen every single time I resume, just most of the time. I've "lived" through the above scenario at least 100 times. This isn't a terrible ordeal, since I always just click "restart Firefox" on the crash message and get back all my tabs, but it is annoying. It did not happen with the early betas.ĭoes anybody know if there's a way to fix this (other than closing Firefox before I leave my desk)? This has been happening since the later betas of Firefox 7. I go away from my desk for a while, leaving the computer on and Firefox open (I usually have a high number of tabs open), I return and press a key on the keyboard to wake it up, I see Firefox working on the screen for a second or two, and then Firefox crashes. Firefox has been crashing most of the time when I wake up the computer from sleeping.
